- A new attempt to connect the past and the future -
To celebrate the start of the new year and to show our appreciation, we are introducing our online-only gift , "Anastasia." This is an original logo sticker that depicts the history of Russian Reindeer, the "mythical leather."
Russian reindeer is a leather that originated in Imperial Russia in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is made by tanning reindeer hides using traditional methods and features a diamond-embossed pattern. However, this technique was lost during the chaos of the Russian Revolution.
Much of what remains today is leather that lay dormant at the bottom of the sea for approximately 200 years, along with a sailing ship that set sail from Russia in 1786 and sank in a storm off the coast of England. Due to its strange fate, only a small number of these leathers remain, and they remain a highly coveted item in the leather world.
Il micio only owns two Russian Reindeer. This original logo sticker, "Anastasia," is a reproduction of the expression of one of our Russian Reindeer, using Japanese transfer printing technology, which is said to be the best in the world.
As the name suggests, "regeneration" is an attempt to connect lost history with modern technology. What is it that continues to have value across the ages? This small piece embodies our thoughts on this question.
