About the technique
il micio creates true bespoke shoes with attention to detail using techniques handed down for over 100 years. These bespoke shoes are made from carefully selected materials, and almost all of the processes that are now done by machine are done by hand, using tools and techniques that have been handed down since ancient times. These tools are part of a collection that Hidetaka Fukaya has collected over his many years as a craftsman in order to carry on the tradition.

il micio values the traditions inherited from its masters above all else. While protecting those traditions, it aims to constantly create innovative designs that break the mold with its own creativity and create works that will be remembered for generations to come.
