Marble Cat × Native Crafts One-Handle Bag

The allure of bespoke items lies in their being "one-of-a-kind, made just for you." We wondered if we could bring that special joy to customers who choose our prêt-à-porter line. That thought led to the birth of this collection. At the same time, as a craftsman, I feel a strong sense of urgency about traditional crafts that are being lost in our rapidly changing modern society. I questioned whether the techniques handed down from ancient times could be utilized in modern manufacturing. In search of an answer, I focused on the traditional Florentine "marbled paper" technique. I had always been deeply fascinated by its beauty, so I visited a workshop and learned the techniques and philosophy from a craftsman. Then, I thought it would be interesting if I could depict the cats, symbols of Il Micio, freely playing and dancing within the flowing marble patterns.

Through repeated trials and errors, we conducted many manual experiments, but conventional techniques alone could not achieve the expression we envisioned. By combining traditional handcraft with computer graphics, we were finally able to complete the ideal pattern. Furthermore, the expression of each cat varies depending on where the material is cut. While the pattern is the same, no two pieces have the exact same expression. Mass-produced yet one-of-a-kind. It's a special encounter, much like a bespoke item. For the material, we adopted a PVC-coated canvas fabric, achieving high waterproofness and durability. While offering practicality for everyday use without hesitation, it expresses respect for Florentine traditional crafts and the playful spirit characteristic of Il Micio.

This is a one-handle bag created by combining elements from Il Micio's past models. It features a minimalist structure that makes the most of the texture of the Native Crafts series, combined with eight-character cut-out vachetta leather pieces, resulting in a novel form characteristic of the brand. With a compact size that can hold essentials such as a smartphone and wallet, it elegantly enhances short everyday outings. The body part features a design inspired by the traditional Florentine "marbled paper" technique, which Fukaya has incorporated into modern manufacturing. The PVC-coated canvas fabric subtly features cat motifs, the brand's symbol, within the flowing marble patterns. Since the pattern varies depending on where the fabric is cut, each piece has a different expression even with the same pattern. It is a one-of-a-kind item that allows you to enjoy Il Micio's unique design and playful spirit.
